You had your chance to save up some money for a bus, train or plane ticket.

It's all a matter of choices.

Without a doubt, the Resident Hypocrite (initials cp,) has already burned some fossil fuels to get to the center line.

No need, I was able to take pictures of the eclipse.
Lucky me, It was cloudy on and off.
Missed a great photo shot of the eclipse, when took a picture , lowered my camera, then heard airplane noise.
Looked back at the sun and a large 2 engine plane just flew across the sun.
I live close to a small airport.
A week ago, even watched the Blue Angels taking off, flying over my house, rattling my windows.
They were flying low in formation.
Try to take pictures of them, but they move so fast, it's almost impossible.

I saw part of it, but it was only about 25% here.
As long as 2024's eclipse is on a clear day.

    Must be the east coast?
    Bay Area was 80%!

Good conditions south of Farmington, NM. Not a cloud in the sky,
beginning to end. Got some nice images as well as video.

Good practice for the total eclipse next year. Probably head to Texas
for that, but will have to be ready to change plans on short notice,
depending on what the weather looks like it might do.

The full-frame sequence video was impressive.

I did one for the 2017 eclipse, but in some ways it's more interesting
with the annular eclipse, because you never lose the sense of exactly
where the edges of the Moon are, so it really get the sense of one
body passing in front of another.

    Spectacular results, Chris.

I was near Valley of the Gods in Utah and we, too, had clear blue skies.
