opaque than the thin layer above our heads toward the celestial vault.
Similar to how dark clouds block the sun from view, the atmospheric
deck blocks the sun from view once the sun moves to the vanishing point
of minimum angular resolution. So its light can no longer reach your
eyes. All objects disappearing at the vanishing point of the horizon
disappear from the bottom upwards. This is an optical law having
nothing to do with a imaginary curvature. If you observe the inverse
square law of light, which is analogous and proportional to Columb's
law, you will get another clue as to why the sun disappears at night.
