The formula

(frequency) = (speed of light)/(wavelength)

forces one to choose between two statements (no third alternative):

Statement 1: The frequency shift is proportional to a speed-of-light shift.

Statement 2: The frequency shift is inversely proportional to a wavelength shift.

s relativity still exist? Answer: A century of brainwashing can convert any obvious absurdity (e.g. 2+2=5) into an absolute truth. And things get calm in the end. Authors find it amusing to explain that the motion of the observer cannot change the
incoming wavelength but the rest of the world couldn't care less:

Any sane person sees that the frequency and the speed of the light pulses vary proportionally for the moving observer. It takes deep insanity (or unlimited dishonesty) to claim that the frequency varies inversely proportionally to the distance between
subsequent pulses while the speed of the pulses relative to the moving observer gloriously remains constant.

The "root of all the evil" in physics is Einstein's nonsensical constant-speed-of-light axiom. Physicists know that, start telling the truth sometimes, but then stop halfway. Physics is predicated on the nonsense and would collapse without it. In this
