    Acorn triodes. I have a Measurements 59 UHF grid dip oscillator that uses
    one.

    They were more or less obsoleted when Nuvistors came along.

    Thanks, Phil. I've got the Boonton Megacycle meter GCO and will set
    them aside in case that goes tits-up like so much of my vintage test
    gear does all too frequently.
