Ar an tríú lá is fiche de mí Márta, scríobh Christian Weisgerber:
German Wikipedia has a fascinating article https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poga%C5%84ske_gwary_z_Narewu
about a centuries-old glossary that translates 215 words between
Polish and a lost Baltic language (Sudovian aka Yotvingian).
» [...] ist der Titel einer seit *1982* der Fachwelt bekannt gewordenen Wortliste mit Übersetzungen von 215 Wörtern vom Polnischen in eine untergegangene baltische Sprache.«
My asterisks. The whole article is fascinating, if you don’t have German I’m
sure Google Translate does a not-terrible job.
The other language Wikipedia articles are shorter than the German, with the exception of the in one of the variants of White Russian (I am uncertain how to spell the loanword name of the language these days.)
Thanks, Christian.
