    I wonder how the immune system responses to reduced calories.

    Vitamin C supposedly maintains correct cell differentiation by guarding
    the chromosome against degradation. The type of degradation from an
    overly accelerated metabolism; perhaps.

    From the link, Rapamycin ; use results in a depressed immune system, not a good idea in most instances.
