Resilient Despite the Odds
As Kiev did not fall within 96 hours as predicted by foreign intelligence,
our hopes started to grow. It became clear that, with the help from God,
hearts of little men have greater strength than batteries of artillery whose only recoil was that they weren't able to reload ammunition fast enough.
Certainly, God was with the Ukrainians in those early days of Russian
invasion. As in its advance, Ukrainian people proved themselves strong, courageous and brave.
For the new, free Ukraine there should be a plan devised now already, for
many battles won in war are later lost in peace due to lack of resolve and integrity.
As I witnessed Croatian war for independence, I can spot that though
its president Franjo Tuđman might have great strategy in his endless
attempts of cease fires called "clay pigeon strategy", he won the Croatian international recognition and much of the territory in later 1995 Storm operation. Later, the Eastern parts of Croatia were repatriated without a bullet, in peace talks, as the aggressor was weakened both by international sanctions and internal collapse.
But Mr. Tuđman failed to understand the need for economic and moral
integrity of the nation, just as the importance of knowledge economy.
One of his prominent actors, the holder of State seal, said in Parliament
that Croatia doesn't need its own brains, for they can be bought at 2
German marks per kilogram. Yes, maybe pig brains pr sheep brains, but
not the brains that develop sophisticated equipment, science and
weapons.
Croatia was driven to debt slavery and submission due to its
weak economy that largely relied upon service provision and tourism.
Its industrial prowess had been knocked down and small and medium
business decimated many times over. When you walk through the centre
of the capitol, you find more than half of the craftsmen shops are closed.
The country doesn't even have enough brains to utilise the EU support
in the project funded 85% by the EU, or for the remediation of the earthquake damages. Its bureaucracy is hopelessly slow and corrupt. I wonder what
would be the chances of the country to face an army like 1991 JNA now
and alone?
As the war is being fought, and battles won, one has already to devise
plans for the incoming peace. Once of the greatest problems in Ukraine
was as I understand corruption as well.
The only way to remedy this is the spiritual renewal. While stealing from country and tax payers in peace is sin, in war it is equal to spilling innocent blood. As the most of the government officials newer undergo a reelection procedure, it would be for the best if they repented in this dire hour and changed their way to serve the nation.
And there is a way of remediation in the Gospel of Christ, as it is written
by apostle Paul:
Ephesians 4:28
The one stealing, let him steal no longer, but rather let him toil, working with the own hands what is good, so that he may have something to
impart to the one having need.
As we all have to present an account of our doing and wrongdoing
at the Judgment Day, many were carried away into corruption by
the pressure of the corrupt system or peers, being not corrupt in their
hearts. Many others will repent and remedy their ways. For corruption
is the death of the country in the long run.
There should also be no revenge on minorities that supported the
Russian incursion. I know you are faithful in this, but I remind you.
In Croatia in the 1990s, we had an abolition proclaimed for the
insurgents who fought against the country, except for those who
committed war crimes. This caused later many complaints, but
probably helped to move the indecisive members of minorities to stay
neutral to the conflict.
Equality of citizens and abolition of discrimination of languages and
ethnic groups must be conceived already now, and forged in trial by fire.
One of the key factors in every war is moral victory, whether we deserve
to survive and win, and how will we handle our victory. This is decided
not only on battle fronts, with advanced weaponry, but also in declared
and implemented egalitarian principles. For in LORD, there is no
partiality, as it is written:
Acts 10:34b-35
“I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism, but welcomes
those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right."
This is done now. Little Russian in Donbas region must know for sure
that he won't suffer retaliation and that he won't be denied his rights
or language, being better in free New Ukraine than in an oligarchic
system of Mr. Putin. Eventually, these people will live in free Ukraine
and should be allowed to stay on its territory in peace after the madness
of this war is done with.
This also involves the principle of holiness of life applied to every human being from its natural conception to the natural death, including insurgents, Russian war prisoners and the even the mercenaries.
What defied Russian invasion were not only weapons, which Russia had
more, but the brave spirit of Ukrainian nation. And such spirit is in danger from the power of corruption of Satan (Isaiah 14:12).
God has proven His power to deliver even in worst circumstances and
siege, so come to His salvation. If you feel like you would like to end your life on the side of Good, but you are not sure, you can pray a simple prayer like this one:
Dear Father God, the Creator,
I regret and repent from my sins, mistakes, errors and transgression.
I regret corruption and I wish to remedy my ways.
I deny Satan and his corrupt system of this evil world.
Please accept me and make Jesus my Lord and Saviour.
in Jesus name
Amen
If you have prayed this prayer sincerely, the Lord is bound to save
your soul, for everyone that calls the name of the LORD shall be saved
(Joel 2:32, Romans 10:13). It is up to the Author and the Finisher of
our faith (Hebrews 10:2) to deliver us even if we had been unfaithful.
For He cannot deny Faith, that is Himself.
As your walk in Christ will not be without the challenges, you will
enjoy eternal life by the grace of God and faith in the sacrifice
at the Calvary (Golgotha, John 3:16).
May you be blessed, and may the LORD deliver you in adversities of
this war.
in the Lord
Amen
