The Foundations

In effect, a building is as firm as its foundation. Jesus taught us not
to build our building on the sand of human opinions and to lay our
foundations deep on the rock.
Eventually, the Rock is the LORD God Creator of the Universe, but what
that actually means? Many evils have been committed in His holy Name.
("Because of you the Name of the LORD is being blasphemed among
the nations.")
Weapons, weapons and only weapons may be the necessary prerequisite,
but not sufficient. For a long-term survival, a nation with such a motivated adversary must have economy as well, and financial system based on
earned money backed with real value, not fiat printed currency.
Once upon a time, there was the famous "gold standard": it meant that
the sovereign would warrant the payment in gold for all the banknotes
he had issued. Now fiat money has other methods of warranting, or
is completely unwarranted, like in post-WW1 Germany - the Weimar
Republic, which was not worth the paper it was printed on.
Without a strong economy, external loans will eventually turn into
debt slavery, and friends into owners.
One is best to rely in himself and the help from Above.
Mr. Putin might have done a service to Ukraine by knocking down
its energy grid, waking up the nation, part of which was still in luxury
and prolific living.
A country can be devastated by such an impact, but wise operation
research and optimisation can minimise the damage. But in all this,
one man will falter and the other man will be strengthened, depending
on one's faith and spirit, and courage.
There were predictions that Kyiv won't last 48 hours, and that Kharkiv
is lost forever, that Kherson is gone for good ... But the brave Ukrainian fighters with the help from God have gone through this victories.
But the enemy is far from defeated, and the danger is far from over!
God uses adversity to save our souls and spirits. If we do not listen,
He might eventually give up. Or allow greater hardships.
Which is His Sovereign Will. We do not know the future or the
Sovereign Will, we know only what's written. For it will come true.
For God cannot lie, and apostles and prophets were not cheats and
liars.
They were not driven by vanity, but the desire to help the weak
and lost.
And we know: "Son of Man came to save that which is lost." (Luke 19:10)
So we sometimes need to be lost to be found.
To Him all praise and glory,
Amen.
