New law would keep schools open during teachers’ strikes
Six key sectors could be forced to provide basic coverage
during walkouts under plans unveiled by Grant Shapps
Teachers are being threatened with a new law that would
keep schools open during strikes as they prepare to vote
on industrial action next week.
Ministers have unveiled plans to introduce minimum service
levels across key public sectors, including education, in
a bid to beat mass walkouts.
. . .
Looks like reality has set in - and the govt knows it
doesn't have enough room, or finances, to put up with
endless strikes. Certain vital sectors MUST not be
held hostage to the whims of the labor unions.
Somehow I suspect that said "vital" sectors will soon
transition to something more like the Army ... you sign
up, get a sort of rank, and MUST perform your duty.
EU members may soon follow suite - the strikes have
become too damaging.
