He was 78 and still rockin'.
He started with the legendary "Yardbirds" but branched
off into his own unique 'experimental' sound that was
part blues, part jazz, part rock, part classical.
He had just completed an album with Johnny Depp, not
just an actor.
I would suggest his "Live at Ronnie Scott's" DVD as
a good sample. Audience members including Eric
Clapton and Imogen Heap joined in. Paul McCartney
could be seen in the seats, but he didn't go on
stage. Beck's core group there was :
Bass – Tal Wilkenfeld ... interesting unto herself,
Aussie, went to US (with blessings) at about 13 and
was almost immediately playing with legendary artists.
