Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., told reporters
on Tuesday that he will vote with Republicans on overturning
a controversial D.C. crime bill that would have reduced
maximum penalties for certain crimes, including burglaries,
    robberies and carjackings.

Asked Tuesday how he would vote and how his party and how
the White House "so badly bungled this issue," Schumer said,
"I’m going to vote yes. It was a close question. But on
    balance, I’m voting yes."

    . . .

Yikes - Chuckie must really be worried (mostly for his
    own ass I presume).

This (pro-) crime package should have been named the
"Thugs Gone Wild" bill. The (lefty) DC mayor actually
vetoed the thing and the council over-rode her veto.
The Senate gets the final word however.

WHAT kind of 'representatives' would back such an
extreme thug-coddling package of laws ??? WHOM
and WHAT do they claim to 'represent' ???

And WHY THE HELL DID ANYBODY VOTE FOR THEM ???

    BETCHA they'll all get RE-elected too :-)

Well, the pols had better PLAN for this, and quick.
They at least need to make a DC-within-DC, a "green
zone" around all the important offices patrolled
by kapitol kops or even something more military.
Either that or ABANDON the place entirely - leave
the capitol building empty as a dopehead crash pad.

The "District Of Columbia" isn't really a PLACE, it's
an idea. Technically they can declare a new one any
old place (Alaska might be nice).
