Florida one step closer to giving DeSantis chance to make
    US a constitutional carry majority

The bill passed 76-32 and now heads to the Senate, where it
is expected to pass and then be sent to the desk of Gov. DeSantis

    . . .

IMHO it's not the greatest idea - the problem is when
people get ANGRY and reach for the most powerful weapon
at hand. However, there hasn't been an apocalypse in
the other 25 states with similar laws. Alas, there is
also no clear reduction in crimes in those states. People
maybe FEEL safer ... I guess that's something.

A bill requiring store operators to have a firearm, and
the right to USE them against thugs, might have been a
    bit more fruitful.

Anyway ... how BIG a gun are different classes of people
likely to carry ? 'Rednecks' will probably pack a .50 S&W
so they can feel more important - goes with their F-450s.
Rank & file, probably 9's - expensive Glocks that the
    po' people will steal.

The 'best' guns are probably those smallish .380s however,
maybe even a few .32s. Not bulky or heavy, quick to grab
and use. Powerful enough to deter without putting holes
through walls half a mile away. The old traditional .38
snubbies are a good choice for revolver lovers (but keep
revolvers away from little kids because they WILL look
straight down the barrel and pull the trigger).
