    April 12, 1954 ... Bill Haley and the Comets release
    "Rock Around The Clock".

    It was not really the first rock-n-roll tune, but it
    had The Sound to gain traction ... and boy DID it.

    Amazing though how short the "rock-n-roll era" actually
    was - basically '55 to maybe '62.

    Hmm ... I wonder how many WASP parents knew that "Rock and
    Roll" was NYC "black" slang for FUCKING ??? :-)
