Cryptocurrency investments in Britain should be regulated like
the gambling industry, UK lawmakers said Wednesday.
The plea, from parliament's powerful cross-party Treasury
Committee, came one day after EU ministers agreed on tougher
tax rules for crypto transactions.
Global authorities are increasingly anxious of the lack of
oversight of the sector, whose most popular units are bitcoin
and ether.

ALL investments are "gambling" - from those gold coins the
guy on TV tells you to buy (I'm surprised there are any
left, I figured he'd have 'em all by now) to stocks and
bonds and real-estate to rare baseball trading cards.
Stuff is worth what people THINK it's worth, today.
A thousand factors affect that. Let's see the guy eat
his gold coins if there's a food shortage - a can
of Spam will be *the* most valuable thing in the
world then :-)
The UK govt plan is basically just a ploy to do to
crypto what it's long done with 'real' money -
manipulate, micromanage, monitor, CONTROL ... in
short to empower ITSELF. This is what govt DOES.
