Scientists from the University of Tokyo have developed a
set of robotic arms that can be attached to a user's back.
These arms mimic the appearance of Otto Octavius (also known
as Doctor Octopus), a fictional character and one of Spider-Man's
most enduring enemies, who wields mechanical, tentacle-like
appendages.
Called "Jizai Arms," the wearable backpack can power up to six
detachable robot arms and moves with the user's body.

. . .
VERY weird lesbo-erotic video of the rigs being used ...
There are still two bits missing - finer control and
a better power supply. Recent work on interpreting
brain-waves can likely fix the first issue pretty soon.
Meanwhile, how MANY Chinese batteries do you want to
strap to your back ? :-)

I once saw a demo of that Japanese robot dog and it was pretty cool.
Welcome to the future :)
