America's Southwest swelters under blistering heat wave
with temperatures set to soar past 120F in Arizona, Nevada
and parts of California: More than 110 million under heat
advisories
The forecast, for the most part, pertains to communities in
Arizona, Nevada, and a large part of California, where more
than 110million are under heat advisories
It's a continuation of triple-digit temperatures seen last week,
which came to a head Saturday - slamming cities with temperatures
that topped 118 degrees F
. . .
The heat dome actually extends eastwards all the
way to Florida - but not AS bad (ok, high 90s plus
lots of humidity ... ok, maybe that IS as bad)
This is a "stuck" weather system. It's been stuck
for weeks now. All it does is get hotter and hotter.
Maybe El Nino, maybe not.
Europe is getting the SAME treatment - it also has
a "stuck" system pushing heat up from north Africa,
just like last year. Deaths are starting to add up
and cooling systems are pushing the energy grids
to the max ... and it's only July. Even the UK is
expected to see heat in the mid 90s by sometime
next week.
OK Joe ... launch your sun-blocking scheme. It's
not the best/cheapest way though ... nuking dust
off the moon would be cheaper and better. Earth
could have a nice ring like Saturn.
