Shocking moment huge police dog brutally mauls black trucker
with his hands up after police chase in Ohio for a missing
    mud flap

Police in Ohio unleashed a K9 on a Black man who had exited
his vehicle with his hands raised after a traffic stop earlier
    this month

The incident unfolded on July 4 after law enforcement officers
engaged in the lengthy pursuit of a semi-tractor trailer driven
    by 23-year-old Jadarrius Rose

'Do not release the dog - with his hands up,' A State Police
trooper can be heard shouting on the video

    . . .

But they DID release the hounds ...

My old man was a bona-fide (northern) RACIST, no
    question.

But even he didn't support THIS kind of bullshit.

Oddly, after ranting about 'niggers' he always said
GOOD things about every single one he worked with.
Some even came to dinner at times.

I'm JUST old enough to remember the Bad Old Days.

My old man moved south, into a Jim-Crow area.

I can remember, aged maybe 5 or 6, going into a
barber shop. It had a separate 'white' and 'black'
waiting rooms. The 'black' room was kinda nasty.

The general RULE at the time was that if any 'black'
man was in the chair and a 'white' man arrived, the
'black' man was supposed to vacate the chair and
retire to the waiting room. "Whites" first and
    always.

Hey, even the sheriff was proudly KKK ... lots
of the Officials were. Hell, an uncle of mine
eventually married his daughter; it was well
known that he'd close the books on random crimes
by "convincing" some 'black' to confess. Everybody
knew, but said nothing. This really WAS the reality.
Been there, seen it personally, don't spray any
    bullshit in my direction.

Despite prejudices, my old man never really went
with this program, strictly first-come first-serve.
This seemed to make the barbers a bit nervous, looking
back on things. Big White Bubb's tended to come around
and enforce 'normal'. I kinda remember at least one
confrontation out on the sidewalk. The old man was
kinda big and had been in the merchant marine - knew
how to kick ass anywhere in the world. Had some
interesting stories about Shanghai and the proper use
    of pocket pistols ...

So, remembering my old man, even racists COULD be
    kinda fair-minded.

THIS incident stinks of the Bad Old Days. Looks very
much like some guy just trying to get his legit job
done - and then treated to selective enforcement
and attack dogs. It's stuff that would NEVER have
    happened to a 'white' trucker.

Better not put me on the jury ...

In the stress of the moment the handler probably only hear "release the
    dog"...

Which is why you avoid the activation phrase when calling for someone to
    stand down from alert.
