Pittsburgh shooter Bill Hardison is dead: Six-hour stand-off
is over after squatter who was a veteran and 'Sovereign Citizen'
fired 100 rounds against SWAT teams while barricaded inside
    his late brother's house

Residents have been told to avoid 4800 block of Broad Street
and N. Mathilda Street in the Garfield, Pittsburgh

Sheriff's deputies were attempting to serve an eviction notice -
but when they approached the property, the occupant opened fire

    . . .

    Another one ...

I've even heard of this bullshit spreading into Canada
    and beyond.

Look, the "Sovereigns" let themselves get sold on some
seriously defective interpretations of constitution and
law and too often make asses of themselves, or even turn
to murders. They are brainwashed to the extent that they
    actually BELIEVE in it all.

IMHO, just a suggestion, the current 'conservative-heavy'
USSC should author a joint statement explaining why there
is no such thing as a "Sovereign Citizen". Set it out
on paper once and for all in clear language hucksters
just can't work their way around. If all nine justices,
lib and con, sign the statement then it MAY put an end
    to this stupidity.

Now THIS case, it's not 100% clear the squatter REALLY
thought he was a "Sovereign" or not - even though he
CLAIMED it as a kind of excuse/deflection.

Hmm ... interesting how the story title says "over 1000
rounds" but the story text only says "100" ....

Plus side, another fuckin' "squatter" gone. "Squatting"
should be made illegal by every state. It maybe had some
utility during The Depression, but now it's just horribly
abused. "You have the right to be arrested for
    trespassing/property-theft ...."
