JUPITER, Fla. — A 74-year-old Jupiter man, recovering from
an attack by a rabid river otter, is recounting how the
critter sent him to the hospital.
Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control said they haven't
seen a case like this in more than a decade.
. . .
You don't hear about THIS very often !
However it' not the first rabid otter attack I've
seen in Florida news. I remember a few years back
a man was attacked while playing golf. Setting up
for the putt and then a bite on the ankle.
Anyway, raccoons and bats aren't the only thing to
be worried about.
Armadillos can't get rabies - body temp too low. Instead
they can carry Leprosy ! :-)
Nature - it's Out To GET You !
