New York City is reportedly experiencing a sudden surge in
cases of tuberculosis, an illness that ran rampant throughout
the early twentieth century. There is now concern that it
could be making a resurgence in the U.S.
The Daily Mail reported that there is some data which suggests
500 new cases of tuberculosis have officially been diagnosed
in the city so far in 2023. This represents a 20% increase
in the illness from the same time last year.
. . .
Ok ... TB is *nasty* and more contagious than many
would like to admit.
On top of that, modern strains are now seriously
resistant to antibiotic treatment.
Called the "white death" in the past, TB eats you
away - lungs and a number of other organs too.
The TB microbe encapsulates itself in a thick
gel-like envelope which rejects most treatment
agents and the natural immune system. This thick
coating makes its multiplication rather slow -
but STEADY.
Cures now require LONG TERM treatment, usually
with a combination of anti-microbial agents.
A big problem is that a lot of people do not
complete the treatment. They remain contagious
and the microbe they carry is ever-more resistant
to the anti-microbials employed.
Yes, might be that mRNA vax COULD attack TB - but
I haven't heard of any work directed in that area.
That thick coating will make it difficult for
even such high-tech cures. Kinda need a side
technique to mess-up that coating.
