Ok ... while "Captain Marvel" was originally a MALE,
Brie Lawson actually does a bang-up job in the role,
has the 'proper attitude'. I can't imagine any current
male actor doing the role better.

In short, a lot of these comix characters have been
an integral part of the American culture for over
80 years. A number appeared during WW2 for kinda
obvious reasons, but some pre-date that war, back
into the Depression era which was over-run with
gangsters. (Gee ... sound kinda familiar ? :-)
Marvel/DC have done a lot of character/gender-bending
in their movie versions of their old comix. On the
whole I disapprove, 'revisionism' is almost always evil
and cheapo political sucking-up.
However ... esp Marvel ... their movies have been far
more "All-American" than most anything else you'll find.
Despite character tweaking, they are quite Un-Woke and
do NOT seem to hate the USA and friends like far too
many others.
DC's "Batman" esp ... they've turned the character into a
sort of grim psycho, someone you should be AFRAID of, one
step away from 'Jason' and 'Freddie'. Terrible. Wrong. Not
really a 'hero' at all - Wokie/Left ultra-revisionism. They
DID kind leave 'Superman' alone fortunately. Still the
good-hearted farm boy.
