Hadn't seen that one in awhile ...
And, though an "action-comedy" for the most part
it DOES have a very modern resonance with todays
propaganda, 'censoring' and deepfake "truths" taking
over perceived reality.
The past few days there have been big political
conferences over regulating "AI" - which can and
does generate FakeReality on demand, in great
detail. Somehow I doubt these govts want to STOP
it from being used to deceive ... more like ENSURING
that it deceives in the ways that serve THEM.
We note gov Ventura, Mick Fleetwood and Dweezil Zappa
as minor players. Maria Conchito Alonzo was HOT too.
Dweez only had few lines - but he DID get out Dad's
famous "Don't Touch That Dial !" :-)
One especially interesting feature - the apparent
authoritarian coup US govt was never politically
characterized ... neither further 'left' or 'right'
or whatever. This is maybe the Machivellian realpolitik
model - power is power is power and generally acts
pretty much the same. Maintaining a FakeReality to
distract the idiot populace ...... you see that with
all authoritarians.
Odd note ... of recent it came out that John Lennon
did NOT like Frank Zappa ... complained that he was
"an intellectual", not to Lennon's taste. FZ *was*
ultra-intelligent ... and a bit conceited about it.
However he, and George Carlin, probably had the
best BS detectors since Sam Clemens.
