THIS week it's mostly PNC bank.
Now, admittedly, banks really DID seem to build WAY
TOO MANY little branch locations over the past couple
of decades. They all wanted to "establish a presence"
even in locations unlikely to see much growth. It's
kind of like the Walgreens/CVS war. If one puts a
store way out on the edge of civ then the other feels
compelled to build one right across the street.
Some say "online banking" is killing branches, but
I don't think that's really true. People need the
ability to talk to HUMANS about banking issues - AI
doesn't have a clue, can't grasp nuances, and the
older people can't even SEE smartphone apps.
