This has been an ongoing thing for maybe the past year,
though it seems to be picking-up speed.
I think the banks KNOW the neo-housing-bubble, and a
few other bubbles, are starting to burst. As such they
are trimming operations, esp 'underperforming' branches,
in preparation.
Note too that the 'competitive instinct' likely led
to the creation of too many branches. Every time a
Walgreens goes in, a CVS is built right across the
street - it's like an instinct. Banks kinda did
the same.
The SAD part is that the last housing/property/credit
bubble wasn't THAT long ago. PEOPLE/BANKS LEARNED
*NOTHING* and repeated every stupid move.
