Why US high-speed rail became a real possibility in 2023
Brightline, in Florida, successfully extended its rapid train service
A Las Vegas to Los Angeles project is in the works
Amtrak's forthcoming Acela train sets are expected in 2024
. . .
I saw vids of "BrightLine" ... they tow like SIX cars.
No WAY they're making money from this - it's all tax
subsidies !
LOOK at a map of the USA. It's pretty BIG. Lots of
space with nothing fer shit in-between.
Take a train to somwhere "kinda sorta near" your
desired dest. THEN you have to RENT A CAR or
something similar to get you from the train station
to where-ever and, eventually, BACK to the train
station. Might be 20 miles, might be 200 miles.
Pain in the ass and EXPENSIVE.
Cheaper to just DRIVE there. Might consume
an extra day or so, but you;ll be SET. Get
to experience the "journey" too ... all sorts
of interesting things ........
