I've seen some 'news' sources say it's
an "agonizing" death. However this is
not the case (esp since 'air' is about
    70% nitrogen already).

NASA had a number of deaths some years back
when a crew of workers walked through a
tunnel that had been purged with nitrogen.
They just got dizzy really quick and it was
all over. It was awhile before anybody even
noticed they'd died ... no 'agonized' screams
or anything - they just dropped, never knew
    what was happening.

Frankly, this is far more "humane" than some
of the older execution methods. IMHO they
should add about 10% carbon monoxide to the
mix however ... also odorless/tasteless, but
    it would ensure no 'resurrections'.

The inmate who is due to be executed SURVIVED
a chemical attempt. IMHO, to be humane/fair,
I think a failed attempt should always translate
into a life sentence, not a "let's keep trying".

    Never.

Like for like punishment. If you kill someone, expect to be killed.

I agree. This is actually one of the fairly painless ways people who
choose to die with dignity end their lives.

Disagree. If the almighty State can't do it right then
it's as guilty of inhumanity as the perp.

In any case, nitrogen or N2+CO, is the most civil and
sure method to date. Gets it done, no big mess like
with a bullet through the head, won't spare dopers
who may be immune to high doses of downers/opioids.
