• Did NASA Moon Lander Screw Up ???

    They said they got a landing confirmation, but
    the signal was "weak".

    This is pretty much what Japan said a few weeks
    ago. Their lander basically tipped upside-down.

    Did OURS tip upside-down too ???

    Looking at the thing, it seems top-heavy.

    So the answer was YES ... we're not any better than
    the Japanese.

    It's not going to do any drilling from that position,
    which was a major part of the mission.

    SAID the thing looked top-heavy - a big pod up
    on some skinny legs.

    MAYBE these probe designers ought to check out a
    few episodes of that "Robot Wars" TV show. Lots
    of those bots have simple self-righting mechanisms.
    If rank amateurs can do it, why not the 'smart' guys ?

    Or at least attach the legs ON TOP, so the pod kinda
    dangles.
