This is a significant sign - if Wokie Apple can't stick
with e-cars then it means EVs are *dead*, for now at
least.
Despite govt subsidies, consumers looked at EVs and
said "No Way !". The things just SUCK for 90% of
likely intended uses. The batteries are the main
issue - don't hold enough juice, cost out the ass,
slave labor, take way too long to charge, tend to
explode ....
No really better battery tech on the horizon alas.
The US/EU feds are now rolling-back their EV mandates.
Now for the "short-range suburban commuter",
ie Grandma, who never goes far or fast, some kind
of little electric "pod car" may have a niche. If
such a thing fits your needs, then buy one. Several
makers have "Chevy Bolt"-class offerings in the
$30k-$45k range. Still waiting for the return of
the "egg" style that was always in those old
futurist "world of tomorrow" things :-)
