Alas, this means they will now be camping on PRIVATE land,
maybe YOUR back yard - and threaten death if you try to
      boot them.

Arrest them and send them to prison.

It is illegal to sleep on public property.

It is illegal to sleep on private property.

Arrest them, put them....where? The jails
    that are already overcrowded?

THAT'S how to NOT get elected - esp in an inflationary
    period :-)

"Homeless" are an almost no-win deal for govt. They
will take-over and ruin public spaces, or if you run
them out of public spaces they invade private spaces.

Either way, you'd have to arrest/charge and temporarily
jail them - which is EXPENSIVE and THERE'S NOT ENOUGH
SPACE ANYMORE. Can't send them to gulags because the
MSM will find out and DESTROY you. Can't just give 'em
money because they'll blow it all on dope and get
    even more crazy.

Totalitarian countries, easy, they'd just shoot 'em
on the spot or put 'em in a forced-labor camp - but
    we're the nice guys.

The only 'cure' is 'ready jobs' so not many wind up
camping in the park to begin with. Alas the volume
of such jobs varies quarter by quarter. The pay
would also have to be enough so you and Freddie can
    at least split a single-wide.

Japan has no homeless. Ditto for Finland
and Iceland and Switzerland. Armies of homeless
sleeping under bridges and living in parks is

True. Especially when many of the homeless are wounded vets with PTSD
    and other mental issues.

Another sizable chuck are LGBT thrown out of their homes by "christian"
parents who send megadonations to megachurches.

The idea that all the homeless are just freeloaders isn't true. A big
part of this downward spiral started with Reagan cutting funding for
    mental help to "save money."
