McDonald's plans to eliminate self-serving beverage fountains
    by 2032

Prices at McDonald’s have increased the most over the last
    decade

McDonalds: Change is meant to increase consistency

    . . .

    "Con$istency" ???

A couple weeks ago I posted that McD was responding
to critique about its ridiculously high prices for
something like Big Mac Meal. It decided to offer
    a $5 version.

HOWEVER it immediately became plain that this was
NOT a broad policy, that the "new deal" would only
be offered in an extremely limited number of stores.
    It was a scam.

    NOW ... can't even fill/re-fill yer own soda ???

Other chains are also trying to go on-the-cheap.
Wendy's, for example, is trying to replace most
humans with "AI" and had some bizzare idea about
time-of-day pricing... and McD has also proposed
human-less places, basically big burger vending
    machines.

IMHO, it's a sign of DOOM. Between corporate idiocy
and minimum-wage idiocy it's just not gonna be
possible to have the same kind of popular food
joints anymore. They'll all go the way of Red
Lobster. Some will try gimmicks like "AI", but
it will just alienate customers, speeding doom.

Yea yea, some diet NAZIs will cheer and say this
is a great thing - but in truth people will just
switch to even WORSE, hyper-processed, foods.
Sorry, but nobody's gonna live off unflavored
tofu loaf ... they'll fry-up dogs and cats first,
    then NAZIs.

Line up for yer delicious Soylent Green (limit
    two packets) !!!

Oh, came across a story today from a McD chef who
claims the chain is INTENTIONALLY making its
cheaper food TASTE BAD so people will blow $$$
    on the higher-priced packages :-)
