At my age and need, a fancy 'golf cart' WOULD
be quite adequate. Don't need 100mph or 0-60
in 0.15 seconds or 900 mile range. However for
MOST people and their needs .... just NOT

Gas/diesel cars are NEAR their peak fuel
efficiency. They ARE a big improvement over,
say, the 1950s, no question. However there
ARE technical/thermodynamic limits.
However EVs are no panacea. The motor(s)
need LOTS of copper and rare-earth magnets
and the batteries are a pure SCANDAL. There
is also the issue of CHARGING the things -
much heavier electric grid and WHAT will
provide the power for that.
For the next Trump/GOP admin ... I propose
the "Ethical Components Act" - no stuff or
parts produced by slave, or de-facto slave,
labor. With a title like that, no "liberal"
would DARE vote against it.

FWIW people on both sides of the EV vs ICE vehicles don't hate the other side but instead simply
want to have choice and let the market decide, fairly, which technology prevails or if no
technology prevails which is my guess at least for the next 50 years or so. Why are the democrats so afraid of a free market and choice?
