Wealthy beach lovers left devastated as they're forced to
slash price of luxury seaside homes by MILLIONS

    . . .

Hey, the Cal coast is mostly UNSTABLE ... muddish "rock"
that FALLS INTO THE SEA anytime there's a storm.

LOTS of those zillion-dollar beachside mansions are now
on the verge of FALLING IN - or already HAVE.

Not AS bad on the east coast ... but there's STILL an
issue. Mostly SAND there ... and water washes-away
sand, usually puts it somewhere else and then people
build expensive houses THERE, until .........

Clue - DO NOT BUILD BIG EXPENSIVE HOUSES/ETC RIGHT
ON THE SEA-SHORE ... and INSURERS, do NOT insure.

Yep... that's what happens with democrat leadership. The state goes to
    pieces.

Well, States/Pols DO suck up to the rich and famous ...
this is politics, indeed almost a 'human nature' thing.
If Big-Titted-Star wants a 29 room mansion three inches
from the oceanside cliff ... well ... you MAKE IT HAPPEN.

However LENDERS/INSURERS don't have to follow this 'logic' ...

I would not be so swift (!) to blame any particular political
party for this money-wasting stuff however. Left/Right/Whatever,
politics IS politics. The left coast lets 'em build three
inches from the cliff or on top of the next giant mud-slide
while Texas and Florida let 'em build three inches above
the statistical high-tide line on the beach.

Yes, that was the joke. Nature doesn't care about politics. ;)

    Great point!!!

VIPs get what they want, even IF it's stupid as hell.
State, no matter their 'color', bow and grovel.

But hey, go up to SC - there you see lots of expensive
houses basically IN the surf, up on 20' poles. Move
up to NY/NJ and there are big neighborhoods a couple feet
above high tide (many now on stilts or have a disposable
'spacer' floor underneath). Even lower Manhattan isn't all
that far above sea level. The odd hurricane drowns the
    whole subsystem.

Everybody wants to be at the seashore - and will grease
local pols so they can BE there. Then, after the latest
debacle, they'll try to get govt disaster funds ...
"My infinity pool FELL IN ! Gimme FEMA money !!!"

Seaside CLIFFS are maybe the worst - even hard rock
doesn't hold up to the constant pounding. Wonder why
those high sharp cliffs are THERE ? On the left coast,
esp Cal, much of the 'rock' barely even qualifies as
such - kinda like adobe & rubble with layers of goop
    mud in between.
