Used electric vehicle prices down sharply from last year:
    Edmunds survey

Average used EV price fell by one-fifth in the past year

    . . .

Hey, the goddamned BATTERY PACKS are most of
the vehicle value - and OLD packs are a HUGE
    liability.

In short, do NOT buy a used EV - your REAL price
will be TWICE as much or more !

OR the thing will just EXPLODE in your garage
    at 3AM .....

    No, No, NO !!!

LOOKS like America has FINALLY understood
what those wunnerful EV's are all about -
    PAIN !

EVs may EVENTUALLY be OK ... but that's NOT
anytime SOON. Entirely new battery tech is
absolutely REQUIRED. No such thing on the
    near horizon alas ......

The IDEA of EVs isn't terrible - indeed they
are much more mechanically simple than the
conventional cars. This does NOT make up for
the fact that they're very PRE-mature tech ...
the batteries are THE main issue.

Oh, and EV makers SKIMP on the REST of the
car to kind-of make up for the cost of
    the batteries. Just sayin'

Keep an eye on "Vanadium flow batteries",
not THERE yet, but much POTENTIAL. Maybe
    ten years .... ?

Even the massive publicity when that happens doesn't change the math.
EVs have statistically fewer car fires than ICEs.

That's why numerous companies are working on this night and day. And
that's why significant announcements appear every week. It's true that
the old li-ion batteries have significant drawbacks, but far better
batteries are in the labs already.

So this year might not be the year to buy an EV, but within five years,
they will have a massive disruptive impact on car sales, repair cycles,
    and gas stations.

Again, not this year, but very very soon. EVs have all the cards. Fewer
moving parts (by orders of magnitude) lower operating costs, lower fuel
    cost, lower repair costs.
