Residents in a small California retirement town have been '
left devastated as landslides continue getting worse.
Homeowners in Rancho Palos Verdes, south of Los Angeles -
dubbed America's richest retirement town - have been left
dealing with struggle after struggle as land movements
left areas virtually uninhabitable.
Tom Keefer and his wife Cindy have 'scrambled' as they've
been left to survive without power for more than a month,
leaving them with a new challenge of struggling to store
food properly and depending on ice and propane from a
local gas station to keep their lives going.
'We have scrambled. Not only is it stressful emotionally,
but it’s stressful financially,' Keefer, 67, told LA Times.
. . .
First off ... Cal is NOT geologically stable.
It's not run by people who are mentally stable
either, but that's another issue.
Second, WHY do these people demand govt support when
they're mostly the top 5% on the economic ladder ?
Most can easily afford a new mini-mansion, or two,
anywhere they want.
In short, these people deserve NO MORE help than
anyplace else in Cal. Let them wave their cash
cards in the breeze ... no more, no less. They
should get exactly as much help as any 'migrant'
enclave in LA.
Little pisses me off so much as 'the rich' demanding
special treatment. The cash IS their advantage, so
they have NOTHING worthy to complain about.
And no, I don't vote Dem/Commie - but fair is fair.
As for Cal ... it's a geological/climatological
DISASTER. IMHO *nobody* should live there - and
NO insurance if they insist on it. The *Big One*
isn't far now ..... insurers should FLEE if they
are halfway smart. Wrong side of the mountains =
NO coverage for ANY price.
It's an ideological disaster too ... but, as said,
that's another thread.
