    . . .

The article describes a new ultra-pliant and adhesive
'plastic' patch that can stick on to brain folds, follow
all the curves, and STAY stuck.

The article thinks this can be a target for ultrasound
treatments, however it's really perhaps IDEAL for
stimulating the visual cortex for artificial vision.

Current means of stimulating the visual cortex are
rather crude and nasty - plastic bits with lots
of 'needles'. Bump your head and shred your brain.

However these new thingies are LOW mass and can
adhere without doing damage. They could easily
be imprinted with megapixels of electrical
stimulators. Even 1800p resolution would be
absolute hot shit for vision restoration.
One might also imagine such patches for auditory
areas, and motor/sensory areas that can be linked
    to synthetic arms and legs.

Not EVERY brain function can be addressed from
the outer cortex alas - but a catalog of more or
less USEFUL ones can. Getting to EVERYTHING is
quite a ways off - nano-sized organic 'wires'
that can weave their way safely through all
that exists without doing damage, a secondary
    nervous system so to speak.

Note that the potential for EVIL there may outweigh
any advantages alas ... 'power' is always on the
minds of so many and some tech should NOT be invented
    because of that ........

Something TOO many seem to forget these days.
I regularly see articles by people SO proud
they've found ways to detect the latest species
    of 'witch'.

Hitler's people found that empowering the
powerless - those SHIT upon all of their
lives - made for VERY useful cohorts. They
would do ANYTHING for their empowerers and
could be especially ruthless. Just sayin'

Such is our nature. Blame Darwin if you want.
