Poor old Ozzy ... mostly seems brain-dead UNTIL you
put him in front of an audience.
In Birmingham yesterday the entire old Black Sabbath
team was re-united and got a standing ovation. Ozzy
had to remain seated in a black throne most of the
time due to his injuries, but did manage to get up
and kinda strut it a little.
Black Sabbath was the seed of Heavy Metal in the
early 70s ... a sound and attitude that was largely
new and different. Didn't matter if the musicianship
was a little rough - indeed that added to the effect.
Hey, I bought their 1st album when it was new in
a bin at a Woolworths store. Critics pissed on
it, but the sales said different ... there was
something decidedly there. The 2nd album set it
in stone.
Hmmm ... first row shelf, the A/B section, facing
west. How the hell do I remember that ??? Must not
have taken enough drugs :-)
