    Black & White, 1965

The series became something of a joke.

However, the 1st season was actually pretty
    good sci-fi.

Dr. Smith was truly evil. The Robot was on
HIS side. The sci-tech was believable. The
atmosphere was kinda tense. Fair plots.

By the time the color episodes arrived, the
whole equation had changed very much for the
worse - silly shit. It is reputed that Guy
Williams - once 'Zorro' - quit acting because
his role had become destructively stupid
    and embarrassing.

This was one of the "Irwin/Allen" shows very
popular in the 60s. This included "Time Tunnel"
(have the whole DVD set) and several others.
To be cheap they recycled props/plots amongst
all their shows and soon kinda aimed at the
    11-year-old market.

It is ALLEGED that Irwin was a major major
binge drinker. He'd drink himself into a
hallucinogenic coma state and then write down
future plots for the shows based on that. Not
    really so great.
