• Olam Shabbat, a thousand years of rest ... or hell

From Jos Boersema@21:1/5 to All on Tue Oct 31 10:00:47 2023
It seems to be the Jewish understanding of history, that there would be
6 000 years of this world (which I interpret to mean, the world of
gardening and farming and everything that it means, which is ... a very different world than the one of hunter-gathering and endless roaming
around by small bands of people), and then there would be 1 000 years of Shabbat. The first 2 000 years are the world of chaos, then 2 000 years
of Torah, then 2 000 years of moshiach (not a god, not a god), and then
    1 000 years of Shabbat.

While it is unclear to me what it exactly will mean (is this just about technology while the rules of nature will continue on as usual, or will
we already see a fundamentally different kind of existence ?), it seems
to be interesting that humanity is now technologically so advanced that
a life of near complete or even complete leisure isn't just possible,
but will more or less be forced upon the masses. The Chinese seem to
expect half of their work force to become obsolete by 2035 or so (but
    watch video yourself).

We are quite close to the Jewish year 6 000 (it is today 16th of
Cheshvan, year 5 784), but if we assumed a long stay in Egypt for the Israelites (430 years as the Torah says explicitly, twice), we are
already in the year 6 004. If you see how hard our ancestors have been
working, even just a few generations ago, Genesis 3:19 "by the sweat of
your brow you will eat" seems to have been true since as long as we can remember. The poor scraped horse poo from the roads to lay around the
leeks and cabbages on their too small gardens, canals where dug *by hand*
by throngs of men, clothing was woven thread by thread, wood was cut and
fires lit, and so on. Everything was a lot of work, and if it wasn't,
then there was always something else that needed doing. Doing laundry
took the mother the whole day. I don't have to even describe how these
things have changed, because it is in the face of all.

When used for productivity, everyone can soon be ... relaxing. Except
they can not, because they are not part of the tiny ownership class.
Because they don't own land as a right, they have no share in this
future. They simply become excess population, for which there is no use.
The owners have no use for all these humans, and they are the owners of
the land, and therefore it is up to them to decide basically everything
that happens on Earth, and it is all for *their benefit*. If you don't understand this, that is exactly the problem. You should already have
known this thousands of years ago. Then I guess, you will die because of
your own foolishness. You where to dumb to make it as a human on Earth.
You accepteb being a mule, a tool, a robot if you want, for the rich,
the ownership class, and therefore they can use and discard you at will.

What should have happened is that everyone knew that everyone needs
their share of the land. This is so basic, a child can understand it.
Not adults though, they have their common sense educated out of them.
If everyone would have had their land, the technology would serve them
on their land. This is not merely about farming, but everything,
although farming is still at the root of everything (literally and
figuratively heh). At first the mechanization of agriculture would have
served the many and smaller land owners, and this would have meant the developed tools would reflect that. At the point where agriculture
becomes 100% automated, to whom goes the benefit ? To the owner of the
land. If you are not that owner, then how will you live ? What do you
have to offer to the owners of the land, who already have everything
else as well, because that too is automated ? You are simply excess. You
have been used, and outlived your usefulness, so your task is to die and
    make room.

This is what you have gotten yourselves into, because you failed to come together and resolve how all should have the same value amount of land,
to start and live their lives as an adult and respected human being. You
don't respect each other, you don't respect the needs of your children,
but you demand respect from the rich and ownership class, whom you worship
and whose dictates you faithfully execute ? Then also die on their
command and never be seen again. Is that what you want ? Apparently,
because that is the future you are choosing. It doesn't matter if you understand it or not, this is more or less what is happening.

This leads us to the darks side of this technological development:

Creatures fight among themselves, is at face value a detriment to
survival, obviously. However, if you are in a violent environment being
hunted or hunting or both, it can help to make the future generations
more fit for survival. I suspect at least that this is why many mammals
who live in groups have mating behavior which involves fighting. The
key here is: body. Animals do not have technology, and those that do
are still operating that stick or loose stone with the rest of their
body. Fighting is to make the body more survivable.

With humans this has changed. Humans are now settled on the land and
they live from creative work. The power over other animals is more and
more about technology, and less and less about a strong, athletic and
fit human body. Wars fights are basically won by the side with the best scientists and creative people. Science and creativity does not benefit
from warfare, but rather from co-operation and sharing. People who
still pursue war offensively or as a routine have become the enemies of mankind. They are a threat to the survival of mankind, while offering no benefit whatsoever. They cause a tremendous amount of waste and damage,
and that is all they do. They are also typically engaging in Tyranny,
and develop worse and worse methods for it, which has the potential to
turn the Earth into a hell planet.

What does land ownership distribution and warfare to do wich each other ? Everything, unless you are a fool who thinks wars happen because some
sick boss type of one Nation is upset about a couple of hundred people
being slaughtered by some other bosstype of some other Nation, while
they are perfectly happy sleeping in their capital with homeless people drinking themselves to death. You think these sickos care ? They laugh
about dead people, except when they can cry their fake tears on TV to
get their people to kill even more people. This is not why the wars
happen. There are usually no moral reasons for these wars.

The wars are more about conquering territory, because the land can be
owned and controlled, which in turn controls the people and brings in
more taxation money or Tribute. The wars are also fought to deal with
domestic instability. If the landless can be send to the front as "our
heroes *cough cough*", that is an easy way out for the ownership class.
All the murdering, killing and lying makes it easier to repress your own people, or to blame some war, and so on. The uses of war for the
domination obsessed ruling class is almost infinite. They have the money
to create all this propaganda, because they are allied with the great
owners of land, which are also the great owners of businesses and
wealth. It becomes an Oligarchy of people who all share similar
interests in keeping slaves cheap and under control. If land was
distributed as it should have been, this will probably not solve
everything or even half of the problems, but it should be an important
step in the right direction. It de-escalates the absurd buildup of
wealth, while giving people on the bottom a way forward.

The people on the bottom suddely are alive because they have an equal
value share of land. Not some corner where they can just put a few leeks
to not starve, but something substantial. The more skilled, motivated
and creative among them will likely be succesful sooner or later, and
those less so may end up joining those people, even as employees / subordinates. While being an employee isn't ideal, you will probably see
that it is much better to be an employee to a person like this, who
actually did the work themselves, than it is to be the employee of some
vague clique of greedy in some office you have never been to, who have
received massive amounts of investment from some unknown financiers who literally don't care if you live or die, so long as their profit is
maximized. If you don't like it anymore, you can still start your own
thing, or join another business. You still have your land. It just
changes the balance of power. You become free.

So we see how humanity is creating both ways now. One goes to heaven and
a life of plenty. Hard work is not needed anymore. Only interesting and creative work still remains, or whatever you want to do. If you want to
do some hand work, you can. The other road goes over the same tools, the
same gadgets and technologies, but is now used for warfare, for death
and tyranny. It leads to a dystopian nightmare, to hell.

To be melodramatic about it, humanity is opening the gate to heaven, and
the gate to hell. Which one will they choose ?

Personally I think, because the humans failed to make a choice, they
don't want to be good but they don't want to be evil either, they want
to be good but they also want to be evil and stupid as well, therefore
the decision is going to be made on another level, and not by the
humans. The decision is going to be, if it is up to me (which it isn't
lol, I guess so at least but you never know ;-): the executive decision
will be that humanity will be good and not evil. However, humanity will
go through hell first, to learn and be asked to not do that again,
forever, and so that they know what their evil is and how much pain it
causes. I think this is a fair way forward, but as usual it will
probably not come easy. The hell will be worse than imagined, more
deadly than thought possible, but then later the good times will be
also be better than anyone could have dreamed off, and hopefully be
forever. Thus all sides have been accounted for, and the evil which is
useless (one creature damaging another creating suffering) will meet
it's own nature which is death, and the good (one creature helping
another creating happiness) will meet it's own nature which is life, and
worth remembering forever. All the evil becomes mistakes to correct and
then forget about, and all the good will be to celibrate forever and
be happy about and even outdo ourselves in the future perhaps.

Buy rice ;-), have a nice day.
