There is something interesting about "not expecting", and that is that
when you _expect_ something, you have some idea or even a precise idea
about _what_ to expect. It can be this expectation itself, which blocks
the understanding.
Example: the Rabbis probably expect someone who agrees with them on just
about everything, and just _explains_ to them how wonderful and awesome
they are. This expectation would blind them, if reality was something
a little bit or even a lot different. We know from the Prophets that it
will be quite different, because the Prophets of Israel say that in the
end the leaders and teachers of Israel are misdirecting her, and that
includes the Rabbis of Israel obviously. The Creator is going to do away
with them all in one swoop, so it says in the Tanach. This is not what
they are expecting, which is weird because it is in their Prophets, but
that is also the point: they don't seem to really care about the Torah.
They change it, to suit the rich.
They expect a square, but it was supposed to be a circle for example.
Example: a child expects to get a new bicycle for their birthday, and
therefore doesn't see her present on the table if it is a wrist watch
(much smaller).
Then when all fails and everyone is extremely disappointed, if not worse, basically giving up, it is also like "we don't know what to think anymore"
and "my mind is blank". They don't expect anything specific anymore,
they don't expect even anything anymore. Hence it may become possible.
Also the condition of total failure makes the current "leadership" of
Israel loose credibility. Even if some Rabbis may get an amazing amount
of stuff right, others may be less precise, and this could dislodge
their followers who are then looking for some direction and inspiration.
Well it made sense to me when I just wrote it down ;-). We get the contradiction that *because* they expect their "moshiach", they can not
see their "moshiach" (whoever that is, why would I care, but I would
care if you return to your Jubilee on land so that these ... Nations
stop lying and having their absurd and all destroying forms of society
and economics).
There is also the issue of time: there still seems to be time, we are
still alive, we still have computers and food, etc. Therefore if
anything or anyone seems it might be the Redemption, there is a fear
that it might be a mistake and that just a little later the real thing
would happen. There would be no urgency to it. It can wait ... They
choose "tarrying", so to say. It is socially safer for them, they don't
risk getting into trouble with their friends and family. They are afraid
to cause a fuss, make a mistake, etc. Ironically, this is exactly the
mistake they may be making, causing tremendous damage to themselves.
They may have done damage to themselves by mis-identifying "moshiach"
before, but not identifying their Redemption equally may cause extreme
damage, perhaps worse. However, until that condition of catastrophe is
actually a reality, all this is merely talk and it doesn't impress as
much as seeing your entire neighborhood turned into smoke, dust and
blood.
Israel in the end then, is a lot like all the other Nations. Food is
still the number one morality. "Erst kommt das Fressen, und dan die
Morale". First comes stuffing your pie hole, and then we can talk about
being good (so to say). ;-) Well, I like pie too, I understand. ;-)
Perhaps all the "Moshiach now!" stuff will still help in the end,
because it might deepen the disappointment. In the disappointment, the
void, there might be the hope that they finally want to do what is good.
Life is too easy for them now. There are no real consequences for not
starting the Redemption. THey are alive, there are beds for the night,
there is Television with propaganda to enjoy, etc. There are Yeshivas
with Rabbis to teach what is left of the Torah and some manipulations,
but it seems nice and everything is rolling on. Why mess with it ?
"Tomorrow will be the same as today, you will see." That is usually
true, and that seems to be enough for most people to feel safe. This is
where things are stuck I guess.
They expect it, but they are not precise enough, and not honest enough. Therefore their expectations can blind them. This could at least be an explanation of why it hasn't happened yet, and why everything needs to
crash first apparently.
Had they been more precise, more honest, they could have either found
the Redemption already, but in that case they would already have
corrected themselves back to the Torah also. They never did that, so
this dishonesty and imprecision is part of the cake, is part of why they
are in exile.
I think however that is is a good thing if things will remain unclear
and doubtful, so that only the really good and intelligent can pass the
test, so to say, and only they will be in, and the rest will be out.
The idolators will then be out, the ones who can only follow the herd
and do whatever the bosses say good or bad, will be out.
The uncertainty and doubt is a good thing, it separates good and bad
I suppose. It makes people who don't really know what good is doubt
more. If everything was extremely obvious like "man walks on water and
flies through the air, snaps finger and the Third Temple was suddenly
there", everyone would be on their face in a hurry. That's not the world
we have been living in so far at least. The idolators of the world will
also finally have their miraculous idol hero, exactly what they wanted.
How do they grow in any way in all of this. It is just completely
overwhelming. Then when the dust settles and the thousands of years tick
by, it would just become another one of these hero religions. People
will forget, they are no longer impressed, they don't believe, and what
are they to do anyway: too many do as they please even if it is bad ?
Another nuclear war maybe, how about some high technological Tyranny.
So how about the opposite: make it small, make it smaller, make it seem
crazy. Make it difficult on them. Do you listen to the beggar in the
street ? Have you heard him say the truth ? Can you ?
Oh my, but his lineage is uncertain ! Oh my, but where are the miracles
?! No no, this is not our god hero miracle worker ! This is nothing like
Spider man or Super man, real heroes. We want a real hero ! We want
something supernatural, and only then will we think of doing the Torah
again, only then might we care enough about Truth, Peace and Justice for
all. We need to be forced into it. Such are the idolators. I don't see
that as a stable solution for the eternal future.
Understanding is a better base, a better foundation. Why do I not care
for the lies about "axioms" being the foundation of Math, even though
debased Science today claims this nonsense right in their University
education books, first year already ? Because I know one bean with
another bean makes for two. It is that simple, and Math merely describes
the process. It is experimental at the root. I'm not impressed by their
lies, because I thought about it and I understand at least such a simple
thing, and you can of course too. I will also never accept that light
speed is a constant relative to everyhing and everyone (the crazed
Einstein / Lorentz hoax, total garbage). I don't fall for it, no matter
how they make Einstein a cult figure. I don't fall for the idol, because
I like thinking about it, and see: it is total garbage, a child can see
it. I don't care if Einstein came along, walked on water, flew through
the air, snapped his fingers and a 3rd Temple appeared in Yerushalayim,
I still would think he was deeply wrong and a liar and a fraud.
Such simple understanding, why would it grind away over the thousands of
years of eternity ? No just the opposite, every time you think about it,
every time you wonder why 1 + 1 = 2, you deepen your understanding of
it. Understanding can and should be a rock solid foundation to a society
who does things right. It is also this way with soil ownership. You can
just *understand it*, and then you *know* why and how Moshe Rabbeinu was
right (or his God if you prefer). You don't need to believe it, you
*know* it. Incidentally, you also see the subtleties in it all, you see
that it doesn't necessarily have to be a Jubilee system. It might still
be the best, but you see the difference between implementation specific
details and core principles behind it. You would have such a more rich understanding and living of what the Jubilee on land means. You aren't
like this one dimensional creature like "We just do whatever the Torah
says". You know why you do the Jubilee on land if you do that, and you
know what is the more and less important parts thereof, etc.
Example: there was a Prophet in the Tanach (IIRC), who said he was sick
of the parties of Israel, of how they celebrated their parties and holy
days. I don't think there is any complaint about Israel conducting the
Jubilee on land, only complaints that they didn't do enough of it. The
holy days are not necessarily as essential, they may serve a purpose,
but they could also be different. Land distribution as a principle can
not be different. You have to do it, there is a very important core
principle behind it. You can fullfill this principle in different ways.
Then holy days in general may be important, to have that, but the exact
makeup of them might be secondary. A different Nation could follow the
Torah, but have different holy days which have meaning to their history.
The Shabbos might be an exception, although any often repeated rest day
might serve the same purpose.
Another example is ... prosbul (hehe). One effect is debt forgiveness is helping the poor, and another is lowering the rich. You could structure
debt forgiveness differently, so long as you make sure it is good enough
to prevent debt slavery and loan sharking, and also to take down the
rich if they grow out of control. If you *understand it* you have a
foundation which keeps it going.
Therefore I suppose it is already said in Judaism, that after the
Redemption and when things will be understood better, that Israel
already did the truth before they understood it. Now everything is in
the form of a religion, but then this religion will more or less become
a Science. It will gain understanding and agreement by knowing. Other
religions will probably either entirely implode, or be known as lesser.
Understanding is only hurt when some hero with god powers shows up. No,
just do the reverse. It's a crazy man, nobody can believe him ... but he
says the truth. Do you dare to listen to the truth for the sake of it ?
Can you listen to the small voice, with the propaganda from all sides
blearing into your ears, made by the best artists huge fortunes can buy ? Moving pictures now already, soon talking robots, aren't you impressed ?
Do they speak the truth ? Is the Television your truth box, one way or
the other, it all looks so impressive, so magical ? Well, then go for
it, but how can a Nation it's peace and Justice rest on your shoulders,
when someone in ragged clothes knocks on your door and tells of an
injustice which has befallen him, but your Television just told you
these people are bad people and you should avoid and ignore them ?
Who has the money to buy TV programs, and what kind of people are they ? Impressive people, right ? Lot's of money to be had there. Can a Nation
it's peace rest on you though ? No.
