Rabbi Tovia Singer said that the western idolators believe you can do
nothing for yourself, doing good does not help.
Comment:
5:40 The church I grew up in accuses people non stop of being evil and
there is nothing we can do about it. It was so bad that I regarded
Sunday as a day of death. It was basically a man screaming insults
at us. I thought: you don't even know me. This story that we cannot
do anything for ourselves except hope God somehow mercifully will do
something for our evil souls, even though we don't deserve anything,
was basically the whole thing they where putting out. Needless to say,
a lot of people where damaged by that church and I also heard it lead
to alcoholism. I heard it said that especially boys where damaged. It
was so strict and over the top, that this church has a split in a harsh
variant and a loose variant, every generation. No the Rabbi is making
up nothing here, although ths mad theology seems to go back to Luther,
and might not be part of all churches.
By the way, I think you should always try to understand why some creed
is made up the way it is. Who did it and why. This is the Roman Empire,
they made this up. It is war propaganda, and meant to keep the serfs in
line. There may be various weird cults in Israel, but that isn't really
where it came from. It is the Roman sword looting the country side,
saying: worship our idol, do what we say, or you will go to hell one
way or the other. Hell is: when we roast you over the coals and tear
your guts out, kill your children in front of you and crucify anyone who
dared insult the Emperor, if you fail to meet your taxes to Rome. That
is hell. If you do as the Emperor tells you to, and you can pray to one
of his idols if you want, that is paradise for you, that is the peace:
Pax Romana. It may seem like weird to some people, but teh Roman Empire
was a mighty and murderous force, and could easily annihilate entire
tribes. Well ok, not easily, but they could do it if they really wanted
to. They don't need anything like making sense. Better yet if it does
_not make sense_ because then you can test the loyalty of your slaves
even better. Worship this rock, worship this clown, and if you resist
or dare raise an argument: unto the cross you go.
Is it effective as a Tyrannical strategy: yes. Many people in the Jeebus idolatry system are historically guilty over supporting a Tyranny and
allowing torture of otherwise good people, just because they thought that
if those people could be tortured hard enough on Earth, perhaps they
will turn to Jeebus the idol and avoid eternal damnation. This is how
people thought ! Of course the Romans aren't stupid, but cunning Empire
stokers and looters, and so they think this is just working out fine for
them. That is what it is all about with this Jeebus idol. Theology does
not matter, the crazier the better, so long as you don't get too much
rebellion that is. This is why you get this "Jeebus died for our sins",
did what ?! How ? How does that help anyone ? Jeebus said nothing of
worth, did nothing of note. It does not matter. What matters is that
you will fear the Roman sword, and you can proof your blind loyalty
to the Empire by acting like a lunatic ! Worship that torture rack,
worship it ! (lol sorry about this).
