WENTZVILLE– One person is dead and a suspect is in custody after a late- night fatal shooting in Wentzville on Tuesday.

The shooting occurred outside one of the town homes on the 1300 block of the Hidden Valley Apartment Complex near the Wentzville GM Plant around 10:30
p.m.

The incident occurred after two men in their 30s got into an altercation
that involved a woman who lives in one of the town homes, according to the Wentzville Police Department. When the officers arrived, they found one of
the males suffering from a gunshot wound. The man shot was pronounced dead
at the scene.

The other man, who is considered the suspect in the shooting, ran away
before officers got to the scene but was arrested in the same general area several hours later after the suspect was identified through a resident’s Ring doorbell camera.

The police contacted the woman at the scene and she is cooperating with the authorities. It’s unclear what her relation may be to those involved in the shooting.
