In the process of trying to track down four Georgia inmates who are on the
run after escaping prison, authorities ended up finding a murder suspect
who had seemingly been kidnapped seven months ago.
U.S. Marshalls were met with gunfire as they visited an apartment in Bibb County to speak with someone about a possible connection to the prison
escape.
According to Fox News, the Marshalls, along with members of a SWAT team, entered the apartment and discovered a man "down from a self-inflicted
gunshot wound," who was later identified as Christian Williams.
Back in March, Williams was due in court for murder charges but was
reportedly abducted and had not been seen since. According to the Bibb
County Sheriff's Office, Williams was rushed to a hospital and is in
critical condition.
Williams is suspected of helping Joey Fournier, Chavis Stokes, Marc K. Anderson, and Johnifer Barnwell break out of Bibbs County Jail last week.
The four inmates escaped through a broken window and drove off in a blue
Dodge Challenger.
Rewards totaling $73,000 have been offered by authorities for anyone who
helps recapture the four inmates.
"Everyone from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office and our law enforcement partners
is focused on recapturing these fugitives," Sheriff Davis said in a
statement.
