• 1939 "census" location

From Graeme Wall@21:1/5 to All on Wed May 8 13:41:30 2024
I have found a person in 1939 at 21 George Street! There is no othere
clue as to where in the country this is, the Borough, UD or RD section
hasn't been completed, all I have is is the ED Letter Code: DBVI
    the page ref is tna_r39_1507_1507c_007.jpg.

Anyone know how to decode this to an actual location?

A couple of the people are listed as labourers at RAOC Colchester so I
assume that is the most likely location.

DBVI is Colchester MB and only has 15 images on Ancestry - https://www.lostcousins.com/newsletters2/1939RegisterAreaCodes.htm
Image 7 in Ancestry's contains 21 George Street.
The current postcode is CO1 1TT.

Thanks very much, how did you find the ED code?
