Does anyone know where I can get a 17th century will transcribed from
the old secretary hand. I can't find anything on the web?

Maybe someone at the National Archives can assist, as well as ensuring
that it is properly recorded and documented?

Using the AI search https://www.perplexity.ai gave

an AI service with a free trial https://www.transkribus.org
From a quick look, it has a large selection of models to use
    e.g. https://readcoop.eu/transkribus/public-models/

a professional service Transcription Services Ltd https://transcriptionservicesltd.com

a National Archives web tutorial https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/education/resources/palaeography/

Very many thanks for the replies, I'll give them a try.

Thanks, John.  That sounds very interesting.  I must sort out something
    for a try-out.

Interesting partial result. I have an image of a document which is in
Latin with an English note added, neither in a particularly easy script
(but with my handwriting I've no cause to complain ;).

I selected Latin as the language, uploaded it and got junk back. Then I noticed it was set to Print, not handwriting. I split it into two
    images, Latin & English.

I then set the language to Latin and discovered that the Handwriting
    option was automatically disabled.

Setting the language to English enabled Handwriting to be selected and
tried again. The result came back somewhat better than I could manage
to read it and enough to give the gist:
"But if [I think this is Bailif - IG]
This wth what further followeth may be found upon Record
Fibraigh or any Else think yt ye lept delivers to P. Bray to be a true
    copie of ye boandors
of ye ancient fforrest Lordship or Greaweship of Holme Me desire them to let
us know, in what year of or Lord or of any Kings raigne, & before whom, yagression
was taken & what were names of y Jury ypnted or found it, & where it
    mmay found
upon retore Ther wee are fully satisfied, the its very falfe in diverse respects Mad
    CTB: J.S.
therefore not to be creditted or regarded
    J.F. W:L "

The English note is written at a bit of a slope so I may go back and
straighten it out and try again but it does look as if English
transcription may be useful but if only Print is allowed for Latin I'm
not sure what it would offer relative to any OCR system.

Thanks for all the help. I tried transkribus on a 1604 will with this
result, which I thought was pretty good considering the original.
