Alice who held land in Wycombe in 1248, can be identified as the daugther of Geoffrey son of Angod , see Angod's manor or fee of Wycombe.

Angod has a brother named -Hugh son of Anschetil de Wycumba. See Anschetil in Misseden Abbey records.
    https://www.google.ca/books/edition/Joint_Publications_Series/mPQxAQAAIAAJ?l=en&gbpv=1&bsq=anschetil+high+wycombe&dq=anschetil+high+wycombe&printsec=frontcover

Angod is shown as Angod son of Anketin. https://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/bucks/vol3/pp112-134#h3-0003

    Angod had a sons:
Robert, son of Angod , son of Anketil b. 1172/3 who was 13 years of age in 1185.
Gregory , son of Angod temp. 1212
Geoffrey ,sonof Angod who paid 1 mark for a half fee of the honour of Wallingford.

Hope someone can identify which Philip Basset was her husband.

Why wouldn't the grant be made to the justiciar Sir Philip Basset of
Wycombe & Wooten Basset (died 1271)? I don't see a rationale for making
the widow Alice into a wife of Sir Philip.

Sorry Peter you are correct..my mistake. Forget the question.

Just to add a bit if anyone is interested in Angot of Wycumbe , his wife was named Matilda, daughter of Robert de Hauechford, they had 3 sons and 4 daughters.

Dear Peter, if you don't mind me asking, why have you been posting more on English genealogy recently.

I wasn't conscious of an altered pattern, Paulo - I expect it's just
haphazard. When I read a post and have something to say in response, I
don't pause over whether the subject is English or not. My interests are
mainly outside the British Isles and North America. I don't read through
many threads about late-medieval or early-modern people wherever they
lived, and almost never about "gateway" ancestry. However, I'm a
chatter-box with a lot of spare time.

Thanks for the reply. This thread and https://groups.google.com/g/soc.genealogy.medieval/c/d5Djf3Ade60/m/UYzEtuktAgAJ gave me that impression.
