Yes, Covid is still around more than 2 years after
it first struck.
For what little it is worth, during the long lock-downs
OR WHATEVER, we were medium cautious. Certainly some
were very much more careful and isolated, some did
not change their patterns much.
We quit going to the gym for our conditioning classes
two days a week. I really missed the couple minutes before
class socializing time with others. We got an Echelon
stationary bike and did outside work outs (2 miles on
paved trail and stairs at transit center.
Our Race car club stopped their monthly in person
meeting. We pretty much stayed away from our Fraternal Club
(Eagles).
Regularly saw 2 grand kids, #1, kindergartner into 1st Grader
attending a school, and #2 preschooler in childcare facility
2 a week, and we cared for them 2 days a week, and
the one daughter and Son-in-law. And once the restaurants
reopened once a week we met 2 or 3 other sets of couples for dinner
(so waitstaff).
I and wife got vaccinated the 2 doses (Jan & Feb 2021) as soon
as they were out to normal population, and in the Fall got boosted.
The wife got COVID in February 2022, like moderate cold only.
I did not get it then!!!!
I got boosted again in April, 10 days before our big trip.
OK, we mixed with hundreds at crowded tourist sites.
I normally wore a mask (actually it seemed to reduce
my normal allergies!! Coughing and sneezing). Most did not.
On 4 Feb 2022 had to be tested before flying home.
On the day before we were scheduled to fly out,
I was tested as positive. Wife chose to stick with
me and we were 'locked up' in an Israeli Covid Hotel
and given three bag meals (euch??) delivered to door a day.
Real Blagh!!!
I had no symptoms - just normal allergy stuff.
After 7 days they just said, long enough, go home!
