    Hello, My name is Darlene Jacobsen and I am being anonymously harassed
    by a phone number, 6137997002. In Canada, without a court order, I
    cannot find any legal information about a cell phone number, so I called
    the number back to leave a message about whom I felt was abusing me.
    When I asked the caller who he/she was, they refused to give me their identity. I then reported the anonymous harassment, to my local RCMP detachment in Camrose, Alberta and they did an investigation and told me
    the phone number is being called spoofed. Since that time, the
    voicemails which I left to the phone number are being published to the Internet to cause me even further harm. The abusers are making me aware
    of the voicemails by posting about it on Usenet.

    My local RCMP cannot find out who is spoofing the number, and I cannot
    find any legal information about the owner of a cell phone number
    without a court order. If I were able to simply look up the owner of the cell phone number, I would not have to make a police report about the
    phone number, nor would I need a court order to find credible
    information about the owner. The only other options I have, to find, the legal owner of the cell phone number is to use a third party website,
    which relies on data collected by the public without any merit or accreditation.

    Currently, in Canada, all landline and business phone numbers are public knowledge unless the owner opts-out, but all cell phone numbers are not public information unless the customer opts-in. This needs to be changed
    so that all phone numbers are made public unless one chooses to opt-out.
    I do not trust that any phone call which comes into my home or cell
    phone is valid, and I have no way to discern if it is or if it isn't.
    I want to make my story heard because the voicemails which I left to 6137997002, are being published to the Internet without my consent and
    to cause me harm. The police cannot tell me who is spoofing it, I cannot find information without a court order about a cell phone number in
    Canada, and now they are identifying me with malice and with intent to
    cause me harm.

    I am attaching Spam which is being published about me and linked to 6137997002. If you need more proof, I am willing to show my file of complaint with the RCMP, as well as, a file of complaint against the
    Camrose RCMP with the CRCC.


    You may contact me anytime for more information, and I hope you will consider letting me provide the CRTC with a real example of how bad our communication system is in Canada.
