i've been on them since 2002

    Ouch.

    can't walk without'em

IMO, being able to walk is one of THE most required activities to
    live a
long and satisfying life.  I'm very protective of my mobility.

Agreed wholeheartedly. My walking distance is down to just a few
    yards now
and I hate not being able to get around. The mobility scooter helps,
    but it
isn't the same. Only my many tablets make life tolerable (and/or
    possible
at all.) I've spent half of the past few years in and out of hospital
    with
a variety of problems, and I am getting pretty fed up with it. Still, so >>> long as I can get from the car to the pub it's worth hanging on a
    while yet
    :-)

    You betcha!

Same applies to a hotel, for that matter - Sue got a gift voucher
    from her
last employers when she left for a meal at a local hotel that we
    couldn't
conceivably afford to even go in normally. We used that this week,
    and that
cheered me up no end. If anyone has ever wondered how the other half
    live,
I can vouch for the fact that they live *very* well indeed.

:-))  We can afford anywhere we choose to go, but IME, whether you get
a top notch meal at a super expensive restaurant is very hit and miss.
We've had some brilliant meals at some very 'iffy' places and some
very ordnindary meals at super posh and ridiculously expensive places.
These days I'm always just happy to be fed something reasonably edible
at a reasonable price.  I am a good cook and I get REALLY shitty if
we've paid top dollar for one or more dishes that is not beyond my
abilities to produce in my own kitchen.

I can still drive just fine (not to the pub - I don't drink and drive
    - you
spill too much of it :-) )

LOL.  We were supposed to be off ATM on one of our old car rallies in
South Australia.  I packed my husband off and so he's been reporting
in each day on what has been happening at the rally.  These particular
cars are one of the top end British cars and went out of manufacture
during the 60s so anyone who knows the marque is already long in the
tooth and getting up there in years.  Just yesterday my husband
commented on how many of these lovely old cars (which have no power
steering) are being wrangled by old chaps who can drive OK but then
get themselvss into mobility scooters to then get into the restaurant
or vineyard tasting room or whichever other venue has been planned for
    th rally attendees.

I suspect in telling me this, he might be trying to figure out who
might next have a desirable car on the market for him to consider
    buying........

so I can get anywhere, but I can't do anything
unaided when I get there - I need someone with a functional back who can >>> lift the scooter in and out of the car. Yep, mobility is very important. >>
Yep. At least these days their are those swing over, button operated
roof racks that you can get to get your scooter/wheel onto the roof of
    the car.

oh good now i need a construction crew with a boom truck to have a pee

Only if your country has incompetent importers/exporters and mobility
    service providers.

so I can get anywhere, but I can't do anything
unaided when I get there - I need someone with a functional back who can
lift the scooter in and out of the car. Yep, mobility is very important.

Yep. At least these days their are those swing over, button operated >>>>>> roof racks that you can get to get your scooter/wheel onto the roof of >>>>>> the car.

oh good now i need a construction crew with a boom truck to have a pee >>>>
Only if your country has incompetent importers/exporters and mobility
    service providers.

and i'm a real idgit when i'm on a computer

i think you're okay.... i speak in a computer lingo, a kind of baby talk i don't think i could muster aloud, unless say it just looked like it was warranted (nothing wrong with that, either, it's only to help...not that i have this deep-seated need for
someone to need help to feel like my life has value, that would be kinda wrong i think!!!)

you should sty out od this ,
you'll just end up confused and depressed
