Being critical of a place is one thing; bearing ill will toward the place is quite another.
I want to see every place be the best that it can be. That means, first of all, fixing their errors. Alerting them of their errors is not ill will. It is the best of good will and seeing what needs to be done in the place.
I have spent a lot of time scrutinizing America because I spent a lot of time living in America. What many people do not understand is that I am fair. I am just as willing to scrutinize other places. I’ve done that with Japan, Australia, Iran, the
Jewish culture, and the inner city. In neither case do I bear to the places any ill will.
I have figured out a long time ago that attacking America as such is a non-starter. However there are things that are wrong with America. The biggest of these – and this appears to be chronic - is non-attention paid to such things as philosophy and the
arts. Another is a vicious form of feminism that attacks beauty and love, runs witch hunts and teaches women to be horrible people. And the third is the attitude of “money talks bullshit walks” when in many situations neither is the case.
The French are critical of America, but they do not want to destroy America. This is a far cry from real enemies such as Al Qaeda. There is such a thing as a quarrelsome ally, and there is such a thing as a real enemy. The two need to be approached in
completely different ways.
As for myself, I am quite comfortable in Australia. Life here is a lot less stressful, there is more culture, and women are nicer than they are in the United States. Once again, I bear America no ill will. I just don’t want to live there. Like the
French I am not an enemy of America. I want to alert Americans to the wrong things in their country. And thus I would like to see America improve.
