a Feb. 28 2025 post on providing housing.
Interesting. Thank you for posting it.
The main problem is government keeps thinking they can interfere
more to help 'solve' the lack of housing.
Getting local building permits is a real MAJOR delay and problem.
And, as stated, "Everybody wants a piece".
Wow, you are way out of touch. Builders want to build houses in the
$300 to $600,000 range and many of the buyers are making minimum wage at
the local retail store. Do the math.
I think it is you Ed P. that is out of touch.
Are you going to "do the math" and provide the money?
Who do you think will provide the money?
We need more housing.
I have been providing moderate priced housing for
many people for over 50 years. Government efforts
to intrude their opinions into the housing market
just screw things up.
In the 1990s I owned 5 properties in Seattle, then
Seattle kept changing their laws and rules to make
it better for what they thought "minimum wage"
needed. Now I own nothing in Seattle and they have
plenty living in tents.
In 2010 I owned 3 properties in the King County
suburbs north of Seattle. They mostly quit doing
evictions and tried to help 'tenants'. Now I
am down to only one property in all of King County.
Who do you think is going to invest the money and
tolerate these laws to build and manage rental housing
in places like Seattle.
The government, Federal, State, and local cities are
not going to fill the need.
If you do not let the market work, then you will have
only the government to provide.
And as this area found out after 1972, government
is the worst property managers EVER!
